- *Confirmed engine light illuminated on cluster. Could not replicate any whistling noise during test drives. Scanned engine control module and found active "system too lean bank 1 and bank 2" faults. Based on mixture faults and customer's noted whistling symptom, high probability the crankcase vent valve diaphragm is tearing and intermittently letting in unmetered air. – Recommend starting with new crankcase vent valve, clear faults and retest. **Fault present for "Internal control module main processor performance". Research found this is either a circuit issue to the engine control module, or module itself requires a software update, that only the Volvo dealer can perform. – Recommend taking to Volvo dealer for diagnostic and repair. ***All faults cleared and engine light turned off, but will likely return when faults go active again.
- *Completed **Unable to reset adaptation values due to engine control module malfunction fault. – Recommend taking to Volvo dealer for possibly needed software update.
- *Found excessive play in hood release (at front grill) handle's linkage. Handle would also pull off of mount due to nothing securing it. Lubricated hinges, adjusted release handle linkage and installed shim, to take as much play out as we could, and secured handle to bracket with heavy duty nylon zip tie. – Release handle is not secure and functioning as well as it can with replacement.
