- *Fuel tank gauge shows empty. Fished camera probe down fuel filler neck and saw fuel at top of tank. Found stored faults for "fuel tank vent system leak detection module" and for "right fuel level sensor signal". Faults not currently present. High probability the tank is full and the right level sensor either failed or has a short in the wiring. Small possibility there is fuel vent system blockage (ie, charcoal canister), that is preventing fuel from full entering tank. Next step is to access level sender (serviced as fuel pump assembly) for further testing. Requires emptying fuel tank, removal of rear axle and dropping exhaust system. Fuel pump/sender assembly has been discontinued by BMW and has no availability.
- *Siphoned 6 gallons of fuel from tank. Drove vehicle to gas station and filled tank without issue. Fuel gauge went from empty to half tank, so gauge does function but is completely inaccurate due to bad level sender. – Recommend using odometer to gauge remaining fuel and not rely on fuel gauge.

Temperature readings are measured at A/C vent to ensure system is cooling to specification. A visual inspection of the a/c system is performed. Freon is recovered from system and the level documented. Once system is holding vacuum, Freon is refilled to factory specification utilizing the recovered Freon. Our provided Freon contains a colorless UV dye that will aid in tracing future leaks. If any leaks or failed components are present, an estimate of necessary repairs for the AC system will be provided. IF A/C STARTS TO BLOW WARM WITHIN 90 DAYS OF SERVICE, THERE WILL BE A $168.50 FOLLOW UP CHARGE TO RE-EVALUATE THE A/C SYSTEM (PLUS THE COST OF ANY ADDITIONAL FREON REQUIRED).

Scanned engine control module and recovered intermittent faults "electric fuel pump operating range: Current too high", "High pressure fuel: pressure too low", "low pressure fuel system: Pressure/delivery rate too low", "mixture control: Mixture too lean, deviation too high", "fuel tank ventilation system, 2nd inlet point: malfunction." All faults cleared and did not return during test drives. Monitored high fuel pressure and low fuel pressure via diagnostic tool on test drive. All showed with spec at that time. – Will need active faults to be set and/or duplicate a drivability symptom before any additional testing can be performed.
